What does end of support mean?
When Windows 7 reaches end of support on January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide the following:
- Technical support for any issues
- Software updates
- Security updates or fixes
In other words, the Windows 7 operating system is reaching “end of life”. While you could continue to use your PC running Windows 7, without continued software and security updates, it will be at greater risk for viruses and malware.
Other affected products
If your business still relies on Office 2010, Server 2008, and/or Exchange 2010 for your critical apps, email, and/or file storage, you should know that Microsoft is ending support for those software products on January 14, 2020 as well.
